31 Days Falling In Love With The Bible

Welcome to 31 days #LoveTheBible

I have seen it come up on different websites and forms of social media.  The question of how to get started reading the bible.  Or perhaps it is someone who was once in love with scripture but times have changed and it seems neglected now.  I know that we all start out with no knowledge of how to read a book such as the Bible.  It certainly isn’t easy to read as a novel or even a Christian living book.

The thing is that it requires a slightly different approach.  Although many people do develop a love for the Bible it doesn’t come naturally.  The things I desire to share with you are only to be used as guidelines to help jumpstart you.  Take what helps you, ignore the rest.  The most important thing is the allow the spirit to lead you.  There is no right or wrong way to read the Bible.

During the month of October, I am joining the #Write31days challenge. 31 days one topic, writing daily.   I would love for you to follow along.  I will be doing 31 days to Falling In Love With The Bible.  I will add a new post each day and I will include a link below to each new post.  If you decide to share the posts please use hashtag #LoveTheBible.  There is a button below the list of posts if you would like to place it on your blog so others can read along.  Also be sure to visit the main page for #Write31days to see what other topics you may want to follow along with.

Each day I will share my thoughts and then give you an assignment.  I will never tell you what to read or how much to read.  That will be between you and God.  I will give you something that you can apply and see how that works for you.  Feel free to leave me some comments telling me what worked and what didn’t.

Before we start I want to pray for you.

Father,

I come to you today on behalf of my brothers and sisters reading my blog.  Father, I am believing by faith that they desire to know you more.  I ask you, Father, to open their eyes and reveal themselves to you in a greater and deeper way.  You know them intimately and you are aware of every situation that they are facing.  I ask you, Father, to fill them so full of you that it overflows onto everyone around them.  I am believing that each day after reading these words I share that they will open their bibles and go deeper with you.  Father, help them to hear you and open their eyes like never before. They don’t need me or my words, Father, they need always and forever more of you and your truths in their lives. I ask you to speak with each one of them and help them to hear you ever more clearly than they ever have before.  I praise you, Father, that you are able to do it.  Father, you know how important it is that in these times that we are making time in our lives for you.  Without you, we fall apart, but with you and your power working in us, we are unstoppable.  Father create a hunger in each and every person reading these words to dig into your word like never before.  I ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

  1. A book like no other
