  • Made For More (8/22/2017) - Sometimes we don't know how to walk out that which God requires. It seems this year has been one of those seasons where I am ever more aware that I don't know how to do this. I don't let people in. I found a new to me song the other day and the lyrics have left their mark on my heart. These first few lines describe me well. "You take your place in the shadows, Play your part, hide your heart, so that nobody knows, All the secrets that you hold, Memories and broken dreams from a story left untold..."
  • I Am Number 8 {Book Review} (6/12/2017) - If God can take David--the invisible eighth son of a forgotten family--and turn him into a king, just imagine what magnificent plans He has for redeeming your life. David was born a number 8--a hidden gem, often overlooked and undervalued by everyone except for God. For David, being a number 8 seemed like a curse until the day God transformed him from the unknown eighth son of Jesse into the much-honored king of Israel.
  • June Update (6/9/2017) - In the words of Mandisa's new song, "Not scared to say it, I used to be the one, Preaching it to you, That you could overcome, I still believe it, But it ain't easy, 'Cause that world I painted, Where things just all work out, It started changing, And I started having doubts, And it got me so down..."
  • Whispers of Rest: 40 Days of God’s Love to Revitalize Your Soul (5/23/2017) - If you deeply desire to feel the touch of God's voice fall fresh on your soul... If you ache for the tenderness of an intimate conversation with the One who calls you His... If you'd like to be embraced by the stillness of God's presence-to return to your First Love and let Him captivate your heart the way a sunrise leans into a new day... If you'd like to experience God in simple ways again... This forty day journey of the soul is for you.
  • Struggling with Emotions (5/2/2017) - I hate my emotions. I shouldn't because they are God-given. But I do. I tend to be overly sensitive. I feel differently and about different things than most people. So I try to control them. Stuff them down. Cover them up. Refuse to reveal them. Often I would prefer being numb to feeling pain or what I deem as negative emotions of any kind. I know that emotions are God-given and He speaks through them. They are meant to be a beautiful part of being human. They are important to God and He catches every tear.
  • 52 Amazing Things {Book Review} (5/2/2017) - There are wonderful examples of real life application with references to movies and everyday stories that will help you to apply these truths to your life. Each of the things is only a couple pages long so it is easily read and meditated on throughout your day. This is really good for those who are still struggling to figure out what it means to be "In Christ" and how that affects your life.
  • Letter to Syria (4/27/2017) - The truth is I can't begin to comprehend what it is like for you. I live in a country that is most of the time peaceful. I can't imagine living where I might hear bombs or gunfire on a regular basis. I can't imagine having to leave everything I know in hopes of living in freedom and safety. I can't imagine fleeing to get to another place to find that you can't get legal work and still having to fight to survive stuck in a refugee camp if you are that lucky. I can't imagine living in tents with little to no food and no provisions. I can't imagine the struggles of having to learn a new language, a new trade in hopes of a better life if you do reach another country. I live in the United States where there is a ban on refugees because we must beware of terrorist like ISIS which makes it hard to help the innocent without subjecting them to lots of red tape. Syria we have failed you. But honestly, I can't be sure that I could love you enough to help as I should. It's not fair to think you should have to leave your country to have a chance at a life. So many of you have been dislocated and I pray that each one of you would be able to break off the bondages that satan has placed on you and go on to live with a freedom that you have never known. I long to see more and more people becoming aware of your plight and reaching out to help with open arms and open doors. I want to know how to make a difference in your situation.
  • Stay The Path {Book Review} (4/25/2017) - Stay the Path is a beautiful book that lays out how to keep going toward your purpose and destiny. Finally...someone has written on the struggles on your adventures with God. I've always heard you need to be in God's will. It sounded like that was the sweet spot and life would go easy. What a lie! In God's will brings about struggles and battles like never before.
  • Are You Living Up To Your Name? (4/3/2017) - Still, as a believer in Christ, we have a name to live up to. We are called Christians which simply means being a follower of Jesus Christ. We are to be imitators of Christ. The question is do we live up to our name. If someone saw you in public on your worst day at your worst moment could they tell that you really belonged to the family of Christ?
  • Living in the Tension  (3/27/2017) - I found it to be an odd place and yet as thinking on it I guess is a normal place for all believers. Every day we live in the tension of being in this world and not of the world. The tension of living surrounded by sin and yet set apart for God's purposes and plans. We have to learn to live in the tension and still be glorifying to God even through the struggles. It's a hard thing to do and also a beautiful thing to watch someone do it well.
  • Nothing to Prove {Book Review } (3/20/2017) - If I were your enemy, this is what I would do: Make you believe you need permission to lead. Make you believe you are helpless. Make you believe you are insignificant. Make you believe that God wants your decorum and behavior.
  • You are Free {Book Review} (2/16/2017) - Jesus whispers, I gave my life to set you free. I gave you purpose. I called you to live in freedom in that purpose. Yet we still hobble through life, afraid to confess all the ways we push against this truth, because we can’t even believe it. We continue to grasp for the approval of … Continue reading You are Free {Book Review}
  • When You Can’t Feel God’s Love (2/14/2017) - We often think God Love Us is part of the basic elements of our faith. What happens though when you are a Christian and you still don't believe and rest in that love? Some promises and encouragement for you if you struggle to feel loved.
  • No More Faking Fine {Book Review} (2/9/2017) - If you’ve ever been given empty clichés during challenging times, you know how painful it can feel to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. Far too often, it seems the response we get to our hurt and disappointment is to suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be.
  • Are You Causing Your Own Frustrations? (2/2/2017) - When the storms of life hit I struggle at times to continue writing in this space.  I feel like I have no words that would be of any use to you.  So today I come before you apologizing for not being consistent in my writing here and admitting that I don’t have all the answers.  … Continue reading Are You Causing Your Own Frustrations?
  • The Mark of the King {Book Review} (1/31/2017) - After being imprisoned and branded for the death of her client, twenty-five-year-old midwife Julianne Chevalier trades her life sentence for exile to the fledgling 1720s French colony of Louisiana, where she hopes to be reunited with her brother, serving there as a soldier. To make the journey, though, women must be married, and Julianne is forced to wed a fellow convict. When they arrive in New Orleans, there is no news of Benjamin, Julianne's brother, and searching for answers proves dangerous. What is behind the mystery, and does military officer Marc-Paul Girard know more than he is letting on? With her dreams of a new life shattered, Julianne must find her way in this dangerous, rugged land, despite never being able to escape the king's mark on her shoulder that brands her a criminal beyond redemption.
  • What Happens When You Ask God to Strengthen Your Faith (1/27/2017) - Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans-John Lennon I had the best of intentions to write to you regularly this year and I was doing great for awhile. Sometimes we make plans and then God interrupts with His own things.  I’ve been a bit blindsided with a recent revelation and at … Continue reading What Happens When You Ask God to Strengthen Your Faith
  • Waiting for Wonder {Book Review} (1/26/2017) - Waiting for Wonder is a journey into the heart of God where you will wrestle with personal questions, think deeply about God’s true character, and learn to appreciate His divine work as you discover your own path to the promised land. Recapture your hope, restore your soul, and renew your vision of a wondrous Savior when you learn to live on God’s time.
  • Girl in Pieces {Book Review} (1/19/2017) - Charlotte Davis is in pieces. At seventeen she's already lost more than most people do in a lifetime. But she's learned how to forget. Girl in pieces is a deeply moving portrait of a girl in a world that owes her nothing, and has taken so much, and the journey she undergoes to put herself back together. I feel like this book had so much potential. The characters are very complex and well-developed. The story pulls you in because you want to know Charlotte's story.
  • Where is Your Focus? http://bit.ly/Whereisyourfocus January 17, 2017 Peter says, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So Jesus says, "Come." As he was making progress and feeling pretty good he stopped focusing on Jesus. He focused on Jesus and Jesus lifted him out saying "O You of little faith, why did you doubt?" Did you catch the correlation? If I focus on the obstacles then suddenly I have more faith that they will stop me than I have in the fact that Jesus will help me to overcome. Where is Your Focus? • A Pattern to Spiritual Attacks January 12, 2016, As I was going about my reading I came to the part where Jesus is taken to the wilderness. It was here that God began to reveal some things to me that I found fascinating. A clear pattern of questions from the enemy and an outline of attack against us. I have the feeling that from here on out I will be much more aware of the ways these thoughts come across my mind in the future recognizing this as an attempt of the enemy against me. I hope that this proves helpful for you also. A Pattern to Spiritual Attacks (1/12/2017) - As I was going about my reading I came to the part where Jesus is taken to the wilderness. • A Pattern to Spiritual Attacks http://wp.me/p6Qmw4-kf January 10, 2016 I was learning things but I felt like I had no clear authority from which to speak.  I couldn't explain why I knew the things I did or tell you I learned it this way.  The things I was learning came mostly from divine inspiration of the Spirit.  I was beginning to get an education on spiritual warfare.  It was the strangest thing.  I was always blind to the battles around me...until suddenly I wasn't.  So I hesitated to try to share.  Speaking on Spiritual Attacks: Why and What I have Seen (1/10/2017) - I was learning things but I felt like I had no clear authority from which to speak. • Lake View The Insanity of God {Book Review} (1/5/2017) - The book "The Insanity of God" was not the book I had anticipated it to be. I expected that it would talk more about the loss of their son and how they continued to serve God. The reality is that was only a minor part of the book. This book had me evaluating my faith. Could I serve God if everything appeared to be failing? Would I be willing to try day after day?

  • Looking Forward to 2017 December 27, 2016 http://bit.ly/2idyNs7 There is something special about the New Year. In recent years I have taken to just reflecting back on the year and Gods faithfulness. I've given up the idea of resolutions for a One Word theme I ask God to reveal. • Mary and Single Parenting (12/21/2016) - God shows us that regardless of the situations we find ourselves in if we will turn to God and listen to His direction He can and will guide us out. For the first time, I saw the beauty in the Christmas story to give the single mom hope. Therefore we can know that if you will seek God in prayer that He will provide you with the wisdom and knowledge it takes to raise your precious child to be a strong child of God.
  • Alive in the Spirit {Book Review} (12/20/2016) - Alive in the Spirit: Experiencing the Presence and Power of God is a never before published book on the teachings of A.W. Tozer concerning the Holy Spirit.  This book focuses on the individual life of the believer.  Not the corporate church.  The thing is that the church can only go as far as individuals are … Continue reading Alive in the Spirit {Book Review}

  • Life, Death, and Discernment The Choice is Yours (11/19/2016) - In the last two days God has shown me that there is an area of my life where I was trusting that I would fail more than I was trusting that stepping out in faith I would see God show up. It happens when we share our lives together all day, every day with the Father, allowing God to give input as He will. So as we prepare for Thanksgiving with our families lets prepare our hearts so that we are so saturated in the presence of God that we are overflowing with gratitude for who He is and what He has done in our lives.

  • In my recent bible study, Entrusted by Beth Moore on 2 Timothy, I've fallen in love with the apostle Paul. I love that most of his encouragement was done through writing letters. He offered encouragement while living in the worst of conditions locked away in prison. Set apart, but not forgotten and never unfruitful. Even then he was a good steward. His heart burdened with the responsibility of sharing the good news. He needed to make sure that others knew how to live as we are called. • God wants honesty, truth in the inward parts. God desires that I get honest with myself, with God, and with others. Sure, sounds easy. Only God wants me to get honest about the things that are not fine. I've spent years glossing over things that were hard or negative. My life was normal in my mind. Only the reality is it was not. But that is old news in the past let's just deal with today, please. God Desires Truth in the Inner Being from His People (10/10/2016) - God wants honesty, truth in the inward parts. • I'm wondering, do you struggle to live loved? Do you struggle to remember that you are loved without measure by love itself? The problem now lies in living as the beloved of God and not looking for scraps of affection from broken people. This is hard. • The Amazing Truth About Your Confessions. http://wp.me/p6Qmw4-fA There are many scriptures that talk about the tongue and its power. Today I want to share the fact that you will have what you say. In Romans 4:17b says God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. • Cutting and Depression is Affected by Spiritual Warfare (8/30/2016) - As I continue to grow in my relationship with Jesus I learn new things daily. Part of this season that I am in comes with a focus on deceptions I have believed. And a greater awareness of the spiritual battle all around me. When I was in my worst depression I said to myself and to others that "I am in the fight of my life and I can't afford to lose." That was true then. I find it even truer now. God is revealing that I am still in the fight of my life and I still can't afford to lose.
