Welcome

Deanna

I’m so glad that you stopped by!  Hi, My name is Deanna, Pronounced “Dena”.  We have to settle that first because only telemarketers and strangers call me DeAnna.  Welcome my new friend.  I like you already!

I am beautifully imperfect, a recovering people-pleaser.  Most of the time I am guilty of believing the lie that I don’t have much to offer the world.  The truth is that my hearts desire is to reach people and see them live victorious lives for Jesus.   I love to see people get excited about the Word and catch hold of who they are in Christ and to begin to see His plan for their lives.  My reality is that I still struggle with this myself. I don’t get it right all the time, not even close.  But I know that God is faithful and just to forgive our sins (1 John 1:9)

I’ll be honest this blog has been a stretch for me from the beginning.  I had a plan, God wrecked it, and replaced it with His own.  God inspired everything from the design to the words. The pictures are ones that are from my backyard.  There is a part of the yard that has become my sanctuary, my place to retreat from the world when it all gets a bit too loud, a place where I pray, dream, and sit with God.  I’m an incredibly private person and would typically not use pictures from “my place”.  Yet God lead me to share my sanctuary with you.  I pray that you find it as soothing to your soul as it is to my own.  It only seems fitting if I am to invite you into my heart that you visit my special place as well.  Maybe one day in the future we shall meet face to face, but for now this will have to do.

I created this space so that we could uncover the deceptions we believe and reclaim our God-given identity and our inheritance in Christ so that we can live victorious lives moving forward in full freedom.  There are five main areas where we will focus.

  • Identity-Who We Are in Christ
  • Illusion-Deceptions of the enemy
  • Imitation-Imitating Christ as we become more like Him
  • Inheritance-What We Have in Christ
  • Intentional Living-Living on Purpose for a purpose

I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.  So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it. (Philippians 3:12-16 MSG)

We were never meant to live this life of faith alone. It takes community, a commitment to love and keep showing up, and having iron sharpen iron.  There is much that I wish others would have taught me when I was new to following Jesus.  My hope is that you would allow me to share with you what I have learned and if you are ahead of me in the journey that I can learn from you as well.

I love to hear from you so feel free to email me at deannawiseburn[at]gmail[dot]com.
